“Tink” is a beautiful Newfoundland treated with CyberKnife this past March for HiLo fibrosarcoma.
This picture shows an over three inch reduction in the size of Tink’s tumor! From March 15th to May 5th 2017, she responded very well to CyberKnife radiation therapy.
Alesia and her Newfoundland dog, Tinkerbell have been regular volunteers at Ingleside at King Farm. When they arrive Tinkerbell is swarmed in the lobby by Independent Living Residents, guests and staff. They love to receive her big kisses, and see Alesia’s warm smile.
When the hoopla is over, Alesia and “Tink” make their way up to our healthcare floor, better known as the Penthouse.
Many healthcare residents were animal lovers while they lived in their own homes, and they miss the love they received from their pets. Alesia and Tink visit our three neighborhoods, which include Assisted Living, Rehab, and Memory Care. It is a great feeling to see the joy that they bring to our residents, the smiles on their faces, the laughs and giggles when Tink tries to kiss them. While Tink was out recently on a medical leave, the residents did not stop asking about her condition, where she was, and when she would return. Some seniors were saving up treats to give her on her homecoming to Ingleside.
Alesia likes to make holidays more special by dressing Tink up for the winter holidays. Christmas is a special and magical time in the memories of many residents. When Alesia and Tink came dressed up on their Christmas visit, it seemed like the whole building was buzzing. Pictured below…Tink exhausted after visiting so many of her resident friends!
Here’s another great story of an emotional support dog just like Tink making a big difference!
